- Artist's note: "The Great Hurry" is a spontaneous, free-association riff on a late 19th century photograph of an artist's model by an unknown artist/maker, discovered while browsing the online collections of the J. Paul Getty Museum
- Made with artist's professional acrylic paints on a cradled wood panel; painted in near-grisaille (limited palette of white, black, raw umber and Payne's grey with touches of cadmium yellow glaze)
- Measures 12 by 6 inches
- Created in November 2021
- Signed by the artist with his monogram (PG), lower left/center; signed again with his full name, dated and inscribed with the title on the reverse
