From Philip Gladstone's Pictures Within Pictures (Museum) Series, works that reference and pay homage to iconic works of art, artists and popular culture, often with a serious underlying message; in this instance featuring a riff built around three paintings by Pablo Picasso—Three Musicians, Guernica, and Paulo as Harlequin—with a nude adapted from a self-portrait photograph by Thomas Eakins, and Keith Haring's iconic barking dog
Made with artist's acrylic paints on a 1/8" MDF panel prepared with gesso
