"Innocence Exists" is an original acrylic painting on cradled panel by Philip Gladstone

About: Innocence Exists tells its poetic, heartfelt story using the visual language of a "mashup" (the juxtaposition of multiple borrowed, often iconic images), sourced from a 1950 U.S. Army photograph of a grief stricken infantryman comforted by another soldier and a circa 1960 Schwinn bicycles advertisement — with an appearance by Mickey Mouse, and a ubiquitous Gladstone canine
Framed in a custom-made 3" deep, warm silver contemporary "float" style frame (the painting is mounted recessed within the frame opening to be fully visible from edge-to-edge); designed and framed by the artist at his studio in Maine
Made with artist's acrylic paints on a 3/4 inch deep cradled wooden panel
Measures 18 by 24 inches (20 by 26 by 3(D) inches framed)
Created in June 2022
Signed by the artist with his monogram (PG) and dated "2022", lower right/center; signed again with his full name and inscribed with the title on the reverse
