From Philip Gladstone's Pictures Within Pictures (Museum) Series, works that reference and pay homage to iconic works of art, artists and popular culture, often with a serious underlying message; in this instance featuring a rendering of an Alexander Calder (1898-1976) painting of animals, a wire guard paying homage to Calder's "Circus" in the Whitney Museum, and, of course, the artist's celebrated mobiles
Made with artist's acrylic paints on a 1/8" MDF panel prepared with gesso

Signed by the artist with his monogram cipher (PG) and dated "2024", lower left/center; signed again with his full name and inscribed with the title on the reverse
